MARK YOUR CALENDARS!🏳️‍🌈

In celebration of Pride weekend, we are excited to announce “Don’t Fucking Touch Me” by Jessica Marie Mercy (@jesthedeluxe) opening next Thursday, June 22nd, 5:00 - 10:00, in the Kitchen at MoM. 🌈✨

MoM invites you to immerse yourself in a mesmerizing exploration of queer femme identity, conveyed through the expressive language of clay. Step into a world where delicate boundaries intertwine with unyielding resilience. 🗡️💄

When Jessica was little, she would seek refuge in the desert, a psychedelic dreamland full of cacti. They were both beautiful and dangerous, much like Femmes. The artist became fascinated with their sharp spines, which protected each form from those who crossed them.

“Ceramics as a material can be both strong and fragile. Walls can be easily broken; they must be handled with care. Working with clay feels familiar. I listen to what is needed to grow, how tall it wants to be, how sharp it needs to be.” Jessica explains further: “Existing as a High Femme is a dedicated practice. It is a ritual. How we adorn ourselves signals our alluring nature, but also draws danger.”

Queer Femme’s fearlessly face the winds of adversity, blooming and surviving with unwavering resilience. Join us on this captivating artistic odyssey, as we celebrate their indomitable spirit. 💫✨

As always, the first floor of MoM free and open to the public. Join us for opening night of “Don’t Fucking Touch Me” next Thursday to kick off your eventful Pride weekend.🌵✨
